(Seasonal Tour Mid-November to March every year) Embark on a journey to Red Bank village just under an hour drive to watch "The Scarlet Macaws" in their natural habitats.
A free-flying pair or small family flock of Scarlet Macaws is like a raucous band of flying rainbows, their tricolored upper wings dazzling banners of red, yellow, and blue are stunning! Seen from below, these birds appear all bright red, save for a few blue undertail feathers. An experience that allows you to enjoy a show like no other.
The scarlet macaws are breathtaking while observed them in flight as they adorned the skies and rainforest with their brilliantly hued feathers of red, yellow, and blue. Despite their name, scarlet macaws are not entirely red (or scarlet) colored. Instead, these birds are adorned with brilliantly hued feathers of red, yellow, and blue. Related to parrots, scarlet macaws are very swift fliers and often travel in pairs or small groups.
The species of scarlet macaws found in Belize are Macao Cyanoptera and can be found across Central America as far south as Costa Rica. Every December, they leave their homes in Chiquibul National Park in search of fruits which grow in abundance in and around the village of Red Bank in southern Belize.
The Majestic Scarlet Macaws are our largest parrots out ten species found in Belize.
