Zipline + Cave Tubing

Few days capture the wild range of Belize like this one, which sends you high above the rainforest and then deep beneath it. You'll start strapped into a harness on a zip line course, launching from platforms tucked into the treetops and flying across the canopy with nothing but air and birdsong between you and the forest floor. Each line drops you onto the next platform a little more fearless than the last.

Then comes the descent. You'll hike a short jungle trail to the mouth of a limestone cave, where an underground river slips into the darkness. Floating on an inner tube with a headlamp lighting the way, you'll drift into the cool, echoing chambers the ancient Maya considered the sacred entrance to Xibalba, the underworld. Stalactites hang overhead, the water glows where the light hits it, and your guide points out the formations and the offerings the Maya once left in these caverns.

It's serene and a little surreal, the silence broken only by dripping water and the soft splash of paddling hands. By the time you emerge back into the daylight, you'll have flown over the jungle and floated through its hidden heart, all in one remarkable day.
